Itinerary

Day 1 Arrival at Souillac H-B
Reception at the hotel with documentation & bikes.

Day 2 Souillac to Montignac H-B 32 km
First you’ll leave the Dordogne Valley for the rugged Périgord. You will enjoy a break and a walk around the gardens of Eyrignac. The route then carries on northward to the lovely town of Montignac on the Vézère River.

Day 3 Montignac to Sarlat H-B 48 km
This morning, you’ll simply follow the Vézère River downstream. You’ll pass the Chateau of Loss, the village of Saint-Léon, the Saint-Christophe caves and Les Eyzies. After a break at the World Prehistoric Capital you will ride through quiet, green, thick and bushy “Maquis” to Sarlat, an architectural gem.

Day 4 Sarlat to Sarlat H-B 15 km ride + 10 km by canoe
We suggest a ride in the heart of the Dordogne valley. You will see some of the most beautiful villages in France. After a short ride, you’ll canoe downstream from Vitrac to Beynac. If you are not interested in the canoeing you can ride the whole way on your bike (35 or 48 km).

Day 5 Sarlat to Rocamadour H-B 54 km
First you’ll follow the Dordogne river upstream. After the chateau of Fénelon, you will enter the regional park of “les Causses du Quercy to finally arrive at Rocamadour, a town set on a cliff.

Day 6 Rocamadour to Rocamadour H-B 32 or 58 km
A ride through the Causses with their stone walls, herds of sheep and dry vegetation. You will discover some exquisite villages like Loubressac, Carenac and the abyss (Gouffre) of Padirac.

Day 7 Rocamadour to Souillac H-B 28 km
You’ll leave the Causses to join the Dordogne River at Lacave. You will get a fantastic view of the Valley from the Château of Belcastel. The river will take you back to Souillac.

Day 8 The trip finishes in Souillac after breakfast
