We’d like you to know who we are
Take a look behind the name “Cycletours” and you’ll find a man, Patrick Leneveu, the founder of the company. He has spent practically his whole career travelling, making discoveries, and exchanging points of view with the people he has met. This has led him to understand just what people expect from a discovery trip.

It all began in the 80s
It began at school. Patrick found it difficult to drag himself away from school. For him, school is the place where learning to understand the world is the driving force behind studies. So, he became a teacher, and returned to school to teach History and Geography in his native Normandy. The main thing his pupils came to dream about was the idea of setting off for a trip, to find out for themselves what Patrick had been trying to make them understand.

Then came the 90s
For about 10 years, Patrick worked for an English tour operator, a leader in the world of discovery tours. He helped aspiring explorers find out about other peoples and their countries: Countries as different as Brazil, China or Africa.

This led Patrick to take into account, not only the physical geography of those countries, but he also learnt to be attentive to the wishes of those visiting the countries: his Australian, American, British and Canadian clients.

The beginning of the new millennium
Once he got back to France on a permanent basis in 1999, he decided to start up his own company, “Normandy-Rando”. Since then he has devoted all his time and experience to helping to reveal to others, what his own country, France, is really like. Moreover, he wants all that beauty to be seen from a bicycle seat!

Patrick toured all those areas he wanted to share with foreign tourists. He travelled up and down France in search of authentic villages, superb scenery, and warm comfortable hotels: in a word, all that goes into making up the wealth of the French national heritage. Since that date, he has never let up his efforts to make the different cultures, the architectural treasures and traditional cuisine accessible to the greatest number of visitors possible. And, to be able to do all this by bike, he is certain that you don’t have to be a professional sportsperson: he drew up each itinerary himself………. and has tried them all out!
